ITS A GIRL!!!!!
Chloe Ruth Trombley
Born December 17th, 2006 @ 12:22am
6lbs 8.8 ounces---19 inches long

Mary did AMAZING and completed labor in less than 5 hours! The nurses FLEW into action when they realized when we got there that Mary was already 4 cm, and then only one hour later she was 8! Oh man was Mary WORKING!!!!!! She did the whole labor without an epidural (funny story about that, ask Mary), and Chloe performed PERFECTLY!!!!

I'm still amazed at how everything is just so well thought out. For example, did you know that baby's noses come out flat so that when they feed they can breathe out of the sides of their nose? God's pretty cool huh?

Anyways, the whole family is home now, and life is starting to adjust. I'll leave you with a few extra pics, more are sure to follow!!!

Good to Go

We had our 35 week appointment today and will be seeing the doctor every week now. She says we are out of the woods as far as preterm labor goes, so praise God for that! I have not yet started to progress but the baby IS in the proper head-down position, so another praise God! Now we just wait. Our doctor jokingly told us she'd be working all weekend at the hospital in case the baby decides to come so I guess at this point they wouldn't do anything to stop labor. I am praying for an early birth now that we are in the process of moving as well, so you can join me in that prayer.

On another note, I got to spend the last 5 days with my sister, her husband, and baby Grace. That was such a fun blessing! It was a refresher course in infant care for me. I got to experience a few firsts while I was there; one of them was a few smiles from baby Gracie at her momma. That was precious to me! It was neat to see how Mommy and Daddy have adapted to life with their new daughter. They do an excellent job as parents and of working together!

Here are a few pics from my trip...

The Iron Curtain Falls

An enormous event in the Trombley household tonight!!!!

Mary, after weeks of flat out rejecting even my talking to the baby as "Maximus" suggested tonight that we add it to the middle of the baby's name! Oh happy day!

You see, it was a strategy all along. After introducing "Maximus" as an option, and being punched, slapped, and thoroughly ostracized, I came up with an even worse option.....

"OZ"

My calculated risk was that Mary, faced with the abject horror of her child having "OZ" as a part of its name, would see Maximus as a viable alternative.

"Insert Evil laughter here muhahhhahhhahhha"

Of course, the risk I took was that my wife of over 5 years realizes the turd she married and takes all thinking privledges away from me.

BUT MY PLAN WORKED!

Please, share my joy. Share in the exuberance of my success. Share with really cool presents at the shower! :)

sincerely,

what's in a name?

As of yet, we are still deciding on a name for our baby. We have narrowed it down to what we think it might be... or at least I thought we did.

Then, the other day, Matt comes home and says he has a name for a son, a name that his co-worker suggested that day at work. Now, he tells everyone that this name is what we are naming it if it's a boy.

Matt wants to name our child... Maximus.

So, though we appreciate the input we have received on naming our child, I ask... I beg... that you keep your name suggestions to yourself... please... for the sake of our child (and his/her mom). Thanks...

sakes alive

I think our child must have inherited legs from its Aunt Sally 'cause it's kapow.. kapow, kapow.. kapow, constantly, all day long. And sometimes all night. Man, he is strong!!

I think he (I call it "he"; Matt calls it "she") he doesn't sleep much, at least lately. All I am is hungry lately... and if I do eat, after about 30 minutes, it feels like he takes a straw and sucks every bit of energy from me. My limbs go weak and i just want to collapse in a nap. So, as of now, all I do, it seems, is eat, sleep, eat, eat, eat, sleep, eat.

But I am definitely not complaining!! He/She doesn't let me forget that there is life inside that is growing and strengthening and learning!!! Praise God from whom all blessing flow!
